Al Buhaira Invest : A Success Story

Al Buhaira Invest was founded on October 9, 1983, after an agreement between the Tunisian and a group of Saudi investors, led by Sheikh Salah Abdallah Kamel. Al Buhaira Invest has no limits to its ambitions, with increasingly ambitious and innovative agenda.

The transformation since 1983 of the wet, uneven, and marshlands into a luxurious city has been driven by the Tunisian government's desire to reconcile with its lake and refocus life around the water. Al Buhaira Invest had the task of designing and supervising the implementation of an integrated development project on the North Lakeside of Tunis with its hydraulic, ecological, property, urban, economic, and sociocultural aspects.

Al Buhaira Invest cleaned the lake, wastewater discharge, and efacilitated water circulation between the lake and the Gulf of Tunis. It backfilled hundreds of acres inside the humid area, permitting a vast expansion of the buildable surface and transforming the lakeside into a developed space ready to host the new modern city. The backfilling of the lakesides permitted a significant gain of the territory, Al Buhaira Invest's land assets from 800 to 1327 hectares.

The city that was planned and errected became a full town by the lake shore. Its aesthetic and functional potential transformed the area into a dynamic and modern metropolis with a waterfront lined with cafes and spacious terraces, a sightsseeing pedestrian walk by the shore, offering an exceptional living environment.
